Configured, not always used

Cloud profile: Jina + Groq, OpenRouter fallback before the first token only
Local profile: FastEmbed ONNX models and Ollama on the host
ElevenLabs STT and Langfuse tracing are opt-in

Boundary controls

Bearer query key / admin key; frontends inject a server-only token
Unauthenticated: /health/*, /metrics, FastAPI /docs
No inbound rate limiting in app or proxy
